Lipspeaker UK is delighted to announce that it’s director, Lesley Weatherson, has won the 2013 Signature Annual Award for Communication Professional of the Year. This prestigious award recognises the outstanding contribution that Lesley has made to the profession, both through her own work as a lipspeaker and by tirelessly advocating for improvements in access to communication for deaf people. The Awards Ceremony took place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London on the 15th of November and Lesley’s award was presented to her by BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern.
Lesley says “I am both delighted and honoured to be chosen as the winner of this award. Improving the availability and affordability of lipspeakers has been a worthwhile project but one that continues.”
