Sara Scanlon Lifetime Achievement Award

On January 27th, Sara’s  family attended a dinner in London given by Signature, the leading national charity in the U.K. dealing with all aspects of communication  with the deaf and hard of hearing. The occasion was the Annual Award ceremony at which those individuals and organisations concerned with the deaf are honoured. During the ceremony, Sara was awarded a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to all aspects of deaf communication, especially for her long service as a founder member and past Chair of the Association of Lipspeakers. The award was accepted on Sara’s behalf by Jane Cordell, one of her longest serving clients and a close personal friend since their years of working together at the British Embassy in Warsaw.

It was both a sad but very proud day for all of us in the family and we would like to share a few photos of the occasion.

Christopher
